Science Expo 2016

This year we grade 6's had our Science Expo. We had to do a experiment with food or environmental science. My experiment was measuring the carbohydrates in different types of milk. I chose my experiment while searching the web. I chose my experiment because it sounded challenging and it was really hard. The part I found challenging was when I had to add drops of acid into milk (and it failed MANY times). I wanted to do it by myself because it's really hard to do it with a partner because if you need to cover something with them and you live far away from them it would be much easier to do it yourself. Basically nothing went right and only when the crystals formed in my cup it was the only time it worked. I was very happy with my poster because it was full with information and pictures and decorations. On the Science Expo day I was very confident and I hope I will soon get my mark back and I will have achieved more than I ever have.

Doctor Sprinkles

Us grade 6's had to do a stop motion project on a made up superhero of our own. Our villain's name is Doctor Sprinkles. I really enjoyed this project because we were able to make our own superhero or villain and do everything by ourselves. Everyone was separated in pairs for the task but some people were put in threes. I was frustrated with doing the stop motion recording because we had to take more than five hundred pictures. The stop motion was to collaborate with other people and learn new ways of working. I created my character because my teammates and I loved the idea of doughnuts and how the sprinkles could be weapons since they're part of some doughnuts.

here is the link to my character

Goals

Goals

1. Why is it important to set goals?

Goals help us to be motivated, to move towards action.

2. Whats a SMARRT goal?

A SMARRT goal is specific and has a much greater chance of being accomplished than a general goal.

3. Give an example of a SMARRT goal and an example of a silly goal?

SMARRT goal example: I want to finish a 200 page book with no pictures and small writing in 4 days.

Silly goal example: I want to read a 10 page book with lots of pictures and thick writing in 1 month.

4. Share one or two personal goals you have.

I want to back to Eindhoven, Europe and find the house i was raised in even if it will take my whole life to find it, BUT I WILL!

My Grade 6 Experience

Grade 6

So far i have gotten a lot of knew friends but I have concerns about grade 6. I fear that I may lose my friends and relationships with other people out of school and might fail afrikaans. I also think that grade 6 might be fun now and then, but you never know. I hope that I will improve this year and accomplish much more. I also hope that my friends will pass and go beyond there own expectations.

My Simile Poem

 Harley The Dog

Fur a golden carpet like
Eyes like shiny pearls
Legs like turbines
Tongue like a fountain
Speed like a jet.
